Ambrea Vas Allay is disinherited heir to the throne of Allay. Ambrea now age twenty-six, has been an exile and/or a prisoner since she was 4 years old. Her mother, was executed as a traitor by her father, who accused her of conspiring to kill him. When she is summoned to return to Allay, she fears that her father is planning to execute or imprison her again. She is shocked to find out that her father is dead and her half-brother is now the Emperor. Controlled by their uncle who is the regent for the new Emperor, he wants her to sign a document that renouncing all claim to the throne of Allay and giving up her name. Although she has always been a prisoner she will not give up her heritage. She is sent to the catacombs again, an infamous prison where many died without ever being tried for any crime. There has never been an escape from the catacombs but Ambrea is determined that she will not give up her right to the throne; she is the rightful heir and they cannot kill her without the Interplanetary Militia launching an investigation.

Ambrea's imprisonment is enlivened when a new prisoner is brought to the catacombs, a Tarian male who was huge and stronger than anyone she had ever seen. The guards could not control him and finally they used 3 stunners to knock him out and get him into a cell. Rush "Ender" Blakely is actually a member of the elite force of the IM, his mission is to help the princess escape. Ender has his own power, he can control and call fire, he has always hid his ability because the only time he used it, his village turned on him and tried to kill him.

After Ambrea is rescued, with the help of the IM she contests the right of heir to the throne of Allay, particularly since her half brother is now dead, and her Uncle is the only remaining heir. Ambrea is declared the new Empress but she knows that she is in extreme danger from her uncle and other political threats to her leadership. The IM can bring her home and see that she is declared Empress but they have to leave afterward. The only person she trusts is Ender.

Ender has agreed to help her, by becoming her bodyguard, until she is able to set up her own trusted people and run the country on her own. But Ambrea and Ender have a lot of energy between them. They can never be just friends!

This was a great action packed read and I enjoyed it. I can't wait for the next story. It was all good!

Seduce Me in Flames A Three Worlds Novel Jacquelyn Frank Books Reviews

I love Jacquelyn Frank's series. This is a love story with lots of action. She's a very talented writer, with a vivid imagination.

Her plots are believable and flow easily. Her characters are well drawn, strong, independent men and women. Her editing and proofreading teams are excellent.

If you like love stories and sci-fi or fantasies, this is the story for you. Also check out "The Lords of the Underworld", and "The Nightwalkers" series. They are all good stories, they are stand alones.
Odd, I could have sworn I read this before. As in book one there seemed to be something missing, or maybe it was pages. As in book one at the end your left wondering want happened to the villains. Do the murderers live? It seems they simply just got away their crimes.

I do like this author and have read the night walkers series. Maybe that is why I was hoping for more. Also less telling, more showing. If she ever decides to write another story I will read it.

I loved this book even more than I loved Seduce Me In Dreams and I loved that one a lot! Ambrea Vas Allay is a character of great strength. You immediately recognize this and appreciate everything she has gone through. She is a very determined woman and when she decides she wants something - be it her rightful place on the throne or Rush - you have no doubt she will do everything and anything to make it happen.

Rush "Ender" Blakely intrigued me since I first met him in Seduce Me In Dreams. This book delves into his past and reveals the people and events that have made him the man he is. Fiercely protective, he is the ultimate Alpha male. Not to mention, he is smokin hot - literally!

Rush and Ambrea have their share of obstacles to overcome but that just adds to the thrilling, action packed plot. A fantastic read from Page 1! Jacquelyn Frank never disappoints.

This book is just a huge information dump for the majority of the book, and it takes a looooong time to get to the story. It is mostly explanation of the politics of Allay and the 3 worlds, with sparse dialogue here and there. Eg, a soldier follows an order, and Ambria spends at least a full page thinking about why he follows orders, why she follows orders, how he feels about following orders, how she feels about how he feels about it, and after all that, she just says, "Perhaps you're right." So, one line of dialogue after all that thinking. Then *he* starts thinking for several pages about her religion. I gave up on the book at that point. It is too much telling, not enough showing.
